In the whole narrative of the murder of Castile, there is one voice silent: the National Rifle Association. Some would question why the NRA would get involved. The answer is simply that it is a second amendment rights issue. Castile was a licensed to have his gun. He told the officer that he had the gun just as he was supposed to. The officer shot Castile because “he feared for his life.”
Hell yes, the NRA needs to be issuing a strong statement on this violation of Castile’s second amendment rights.
They won’t because the truth is that the NRA only represents the rights of white conservative Republican voting people. They are one of the propaganda arms of the Republican party. In other words, if you are a minority, liberal, or Democratic voting, your second amendments rights are not worth protecting in the eyes of the NRA.
